An investigation of the changing patterns of rainfall in the Indravathi subbasin utilizing the Mann-Kendall and Sen’s slope methods

Abstract In hydro-meteorological studies, precipitation is an important parameter that utilized in irrigation system design and management, as well agricultural planning. Under the effects of climate change, predicted to alter, which will have impact on sustainable development. Using rainfall data for Indravathi subbasin, Godavari basin, from 1998 2016, spatial variability temporal trend were examined over region, has a humid tropical climate. non-parametric tests like Mann-Kendall (MK) Sen’s slope approach, analysis detection was conducted. The test loaded into ArcGIS software, then performed monthly, seasonal, annual analyses trends rainfall. According monthly trends, February had largest spatiotemporal declining rainfall, while September highest increasing trend. An seasonal revealed considerable increase tendency summer nearly 80% basin.
